The Sonoma County Museum brings back their Day of the Dead exhibit with an opening reception this weekend.

Day of the Dead
Friday Oct 7, 5pm-7pm
Sonoma County Museum (425 7th St, Santa Rosa)
Join the museum at their opening of the annual Day of the Dead altars and gallery collections. Featured artists will include several popular names, like Diego Rivera, as well as a few local Latino artists. The public is invited to bring items for the community altar, and enjoy refreshments and music from De Colores. Regular admission rates apply.

Viking Festival
Saturday Oct 8, 10am-3pm
Sons of Norway Hall (61 W Ninth St, Santa Rosa)
Celebrate Leif Erickson Day at the annual festival. The day will be filled with live re-enactments, Cultural Demonstrations, Taste of Norway Lunch, and more. Admission is free.

Model Railroading
Saturday Oct 8, 10am-12pm
Hobbytown Petaluma (171 N. McDowell Blvd, Petaluma)
Learn about model railroading, work on projects, and help build the HobbyTown layout.

October is kids month at FFC Winery, with a fun activity happening every single weekend. Kids 12 and under are free to participate in each event. This weekend, kids are invited to tie-dye t-shirts using grape juice. T-shirts will be provided.

Festa Italiana
Sunday Oct 9, 11am-6pm
Vets Building (1351 Maple Ave, Santa Rosa)
21st annual festival dedicated to all things Italian. Fun-filled day of good food, folk dancing and music, classic auto show, and more.

Go wayback with a day dedicated to boardgames at Hobbytown

Community Boardgame Day
Sunday Oct 9, 12pm-5pm
Hobbytown Petaluma (171 N. McDowell Blvd, Petaluma)
Monthly event that has boardgames making a comeback. Guests aged 8 and older are invited to bring their own, or play with the ones owner Steve supplies. Hobbytown will also offer 10% off any boardgame purchased that day.
