Do you have any baby items that need some serious replacing? Don’t sell it at your garage sale, trade it in to receive 20% off of a new item at the Toys “R” Us “Great Trade-In” event, happening this Friday, August 28th through Sunday August 20th.
Much like the Cash for Clunkers program, the idea behind this program is to get old and possibly recalled baby items* out of use. The items they are looking for are cribs, bassinets, strollers, travel systems, high chairs, play yards, and carseats.
There are several reasons this program is helpful for those safety conscious parents:
- Older products may not meet the newest safety regulations.
- The materials used to make carseats break down over time, weakening the structure and safety of the carseats in ways not visible to the naked eye.
- Carseats that have been in accidents may look fine, but have unseen damage that renders them unsafe for use.
- Unknown to a thrifty shopper purchasing a secondhand baby product at a garage sale or secondhand store or off of Craigslist, the baby product for sale may have been recalled or be missing crucial parts or instruction manuals.
This program will be especially profitable for daycares, who may have a lot of older cribs, high chairs, etc that have been used heavily over the years.
